A Word on Safety From the Everskies Team:
The Everskies Team understands that the nature of fora and clubs create the desire to speak one’s mind about most topics and/or ideas which are part of the current international discussion, as well as ones which are personal to our users. However, it is important to note that Everskies’ main priority is the safety of our users. Here are some tips for maintaining your safety on Everskies:
For your personal safety, you should never share any information that is unique to you. Examples of personal identification information you should never share are as follows: your full name, your home address, your phone number, social media which contains personal information, or any other information that could be used to identify you in real life. Sharing this information on the internet is very dangerous--anyone can read it at any time. This includes embarrassing or private information about the people you know. Posts on Everskies are public, they are not anonymous, and you never know who might read them.
Please also make sure that your Everskies username does not give too much personal information away, because a dangerous person may be able to combine clues on your profile or in your messages to discover who you are. Likewise, never post photos of yourself. People may misuse photos you post in various ways, such as catfishing, blackmail, or learning more private information about you, amongst other things. Posting your private information is against our Rules of Conduct, and always puts you in danger.
Never share your password with another user, even your friends. If someone has access to your password, they can: lock you out of your account, trade your items away, change your profile and information, pretend to be you, violate the Rules of Conduct under your account, and more.
The Everskies Team fully advises against sharing your account with anyone else. If a friend or family member uses your account, the owner of the account is the one responsible for any and all violations of the Rules of Conduct without exception. Their behavior could result in your account being warned, muted, or even banned.
The majority of “hacking” incidents in which users have rare items removed from their account are the result of password sharing. The first line of defense against this happening is to refuse to give your password to anyone, including your friends. Additionally, if you think someone might guess or figure out your password, you should change it immediately! Your parents or guardians should be the only other people who have access to your password.
Members of the Everskies team will never ask for your password by email, DM, or any other means. If someone asks for your password, it is a scam!
Offsite links can be dangerous. If you think a link is suspicious, the best thing to do is report it. Avoid clicking links that lead to websites with strange, unfamiliar, offensive, or confusing names. These links could send you anywhere on the internet, including to offensive websites or harmful images, they could install harmful software, or be scams which intend to steal your personal information or password. Before you click a link, make sure it leads to a site you trust.
There are several ways a scammer might try to break into your account. Most of these involve tricking a user into revealing their password. For example, a scammer may send a DM pretending to be an Admin and tell a user that they’ll be added to the team if they share their password, or banned if they refuse to share. This is a scam. Real members of the Everskies Team will never ask you for your password, and these messages should be reported immediately.
Scammers may also post or send you links that look just like the Everskies homepage and ask you to log in. Don’t click these links. They are designed to trick you so that they can steal the username and password you log in with. Before logging in to Everskies, make sure that you are at the proper domain: https://everskies.com.
Sometimes, scammers will send or post links to sites that promise to transfer free Stars and/or Rare or Limited items to your account if you give them your username and password. These sites are scams intended to trick you into giving them your username and password so that they can steal your currency and items.
Remember: if someone asks for your password, you should always assume it’s a scam!
You should never arrange a real-life meeting with a stranger. You never know who you’re really talking to on the internet, and flirting with strangers online can be very dangerous. People who will lie about who they are in real life exist in all corners of the internet, so it is important that you keep yourself safe. Unless you have permission and supervision from your parents, you should never arrange real-life meetings with people you meet on the internet.
If someone you meet on the internet asks you to meet with them or tries to convince you to do anything you’re uncomfortable with, you should tell your parents or a trusted adult immediately. If you are suspicious or concerned about someone trying to contact you on Everskies, or anywhere else on the internet, trust that feeling and tell a parent.
You are welcome to report that user using the tools built into Everskies, or contact Everskies support at support.everskies.com to get support from an Everskies Team member.
